Wyre Forest

Wyre Forest is a popular walking destination, engulfed by woodlands you can enjoy the fresh air and have fun outdoors. With three different walking trails to explore, you’ll be spoilt for choice – this is definitely a place where you can spend all day embarking on the ultimate autumnal walk.

After you’ve enjoyed a freshly prepared breakfast from us, set out to Wyre Forest, Wren walking trail is a great one to start off – with plenty of benches to stop and relax along the way keep your eyes peeled for the Go Ape cabin, the sleeping Gruffalo and the Gruffalo’s Child. The Woodpecker walking trail is perfect for families, enter the ‘Valley of the Giants’ and learn all about life in the forest using the learning panels dotted around. Buzzard walking trail is the longest trail, perfect if you’re up for a challenge and want to get up close and personal with a variety of trees in the arboretum.

Kinver Edge and The Rock Houses

This place is perfect for those looking to add some variety to their autumnal walks. From the Heartland trail, an accessible walk that allows you to take in the view of the surrounding counties, to the Woodland trail full with natural play areas for the children to enjoy and Rock House trail where you can find out what history would have been like for those who carved lives for themselves in the sandstone cliffs. As you go around the trails you can try and spot some of the wonderfully rare wildlife dotted around the beautifully preserved woodlands.

National Trust – Clent Hills

If you’re looking to enjoy an autumnal walk with a bit more structure and guidance, Clent Hills is the place for you. The National Trust area offers guided walks by one of their experienced volunteer guides.
The hills are a great place for you to take your four-legged friends too, as dogs are able to run free on a circular walk with streams, woods and stunning open grassland. As your pup plays, you can piece together fragments of 17th century history and discover the four stones on a short woodland route.

Chaddesley Woods National Nature Reserve

Go big or go home with an autumnal walk at Chaddesley Woods the second largest woodland area in Worcestershire, dating back to the 13th century.
The nature reserve gives you the option to enjoy the ancient woodland alone or follow the Chaddesley chase circular route. This is a great place to explore a variety of wildflowers such as; knapweed, dyer’s greenweed, pepper saxifrage and adder’s-tongue fern. Chaddesley Woods is also renowned for its birdwatching, which is a fun activity to enjoy alone or in a group.

Worcestershire Way Walk

This waymarked long-distance trail is for those looking to push themselves. It runs 31 miles from Bewdley to Great Malvern. During your autumnal walk along this trail you can expect to pass numerous places of interest, including; Abberley Clock Tower, the Malvern Hills, St.Ann’s Well and more.
