Giving back this Christmas

'Tis the season for giving and the Eden Family are supporting some rather special projects this Christmas. Read more about ours...

Donating more than 200 essential items to young people in need in the local community.

We pledged to donate a festive hamper to local charity, The Basement Project, every time one of our 21 bedrooms was booked during the Christmas period – and after being fully booked we have fulfilled the pledge.

It means the charity, which supports under-25s with problems they may be facing, will be able to hand out 21 hampers made up of food and toiletries over Christmas.

The Worcestershire-based charity helps people with a range of issues, from helping to find new accommodation and family mediation, through to advice on managing debt and living on a budget.

Jack Hartshorne, General Manager at Brockencote Hall Hotel, said: “Food is a big part of our DNA at Brockencote Hall with our 3 AA rosette Chaddesley Restaurant, and while we are looking forward to welcoming many families this Christmas, we also want to acknowledge that it will also be a tough period for some.

“That’s why we wanted to do our bit by donating essential food items to those who are going through a hard time – and it also gives our customers the knowledge that they haven’t just booked a hotel room, but they are also supporting someone in need too.”

Marina Keegan-Price, Operations Manager at The Basement Project, added: “We are so grateful to Jack and all at Brockencote Hall for choosing to support us again this year.

“Last year their support helped us to provide 270 Christmas food parcels to the local community, so we are delighted that they are involved again this year.

“This year, in addition to collecting Christmas food items to distribute, we are hoping to raise £10,000 to support local young people experiencing crisis. More information, and our donation page, can be found at www.basementproject.org”
