Nowadays, Brockencote Hall is known as a luxurious and peaceful retreat, yet our beautiful country manor hotel also has an impressive history.

The makings of a mansion

Built in 1869 by local Kidderminster carpet tycoon and Mayor Henry Wills, it was once a family home filled with the finest carpets. Through the years, it remained a family home and very little about the Victorian mansion changed until the 1940s when the owners at the time, the well-travelled Butler family (of the Mitchell and Butler brewery) gave the mansion a major overhaul following a fire that caused a lot of irreparable damage.

Inspired by their travels, they remodelled the mansion as a French-style chateau. That inspirational and beautiful style remains in evidence today.
