The Wyre Forest is one of the largest remaining ancient woodlands in Britain and straddles the borders of Worcestershire and Shropshire. The forest covers over 6,000 acres and is noted for its great variety of wildlife. Fallow deer, long eared owls, cross bills and dippers are amongst some of the inhabitants of the forest. Much of the area is designated as a ‘Site of special scientific interest.
