About Us Joseph and Alison Petitjean have owned and run Brockencote Hall for the last 23 years. Back in 1985, Joseph was working  in France and Alison, just over the border in Switzerland.We  decided that we had to realize our dream and open a country house hotel in England. So after a wonderful family wedding in Alsace,France, we came over to look at old properties suitable for conversion  into an hotel and Brockencote was one of them we viewed. With its gracious entrance and lovely high ceilings it entranced us and we had to buy it. We managed to find  financial backing  and in December 1985 Brockencote became ours! after 10 months of hard work, building a kichen, as the old one had been pulled down, putting new bathrooms in, complying with fire regulations, adding light switches everywhere and repainting, furnishing and making Brockencote into a hotel and restaurant ready for business, we opened on September 10th 1986!  We have had a busy time ever since and have made good friends along the way. 24 years later we are still here, with 2 boys , Philippe and Julien , having grown up in the hotel business, they consider Brockencote their second home and enjoy helping out in the holidays. We continue to strive to be a welcoming, homely country house with an excellent reputation for fine food and wine, and good, friendly service. We have an 8 year old Golden Retriever, Jessie and a 1 year old cat called Winston. We hope you will enjoy coming to see us and enjoy the atomosphere and the good food and wine!
